Altfinator Workshop: Crowdfunding as a tool for public interest management
May 07
Altfinator Workshop: Crowdfunding as a tool for public interest management Location: Bratislava, Slovakia Duration: 7 May
Given the trends and commitments that have emerged over the years in the EU's cohesion policy, it is not surprising that crowdfunding has become increasingly popular, in particular as regards the creation of new funding schemes and their interconnection with traditional sources such as the EU Structural Funds and Investment Funds.
An important topic in crowdfunding discussions is the involvement of regional and local authorities in individual member state as they can help to remove the biggest obstacles that this type of funding currently faces at European level. This is, for example, the legal framework, the regulation of crowdfunding in individual Member States, the lack of trust in internet transactions, the lack of financial literacy and knowledge of functioning financial mechanisms and the overall short-term focus of projects supported through crowdfunding campaigns.
So what are the benefits of crowdfunding? How does it work in practice? Is it also possible to fund cultural projects through crowdfunding? Are the Slovak stakeholders prepared for such a project financing method?
The event will be held under the auspices of Mayor of the Slovak Republic Bratislava, Matúš Vallo.
Main Organizers: Creative Europe Desk Slovakia, Creative Industry Forum Partners: Capital Bratislava with the support of the Altfinator project.
