First Altfinator Advisory Board Workshop in Bratislava
Altfinator’s first Advisory Board meeting took place on June 6, in Bratislava, Slovakia.
The meeting offered a discussion forum where the Advisory Board members addressed the current state of Alternative Financing (AF) of their region, discussed the gaps and best practices, and provided input for Altfinator strategy development.
The meeting was divided into three sections:
- Discussion on the state of alternative financing, identifying the main challenges and shortcomings with access to AF for innovative SMEs;
- Alternative financing success cases – sharing and documenting best practices
- Key elements of the Altfinator strategy – discussion on activities and next steps
Altfinator Advisory Board members play an important role in steering the project activities – they are involved in mapping the gaps in the target countries, sharing best practices, developing the strategy that will be executed during the project as well as reviewing the project results.
The Advisory Board engages 11 representatives of Altfinator multipliers: Networks and interest groups of traditional and alternative financing providers, Facilitators and information intermediaries reaching out to SMEs, Micro-ecosystems. Board members were selected from the target countries (Portugal, Spain, Italy, Slovakia, Ukraine, Romania, Hungary and Lithuania) and best practice transfer countries (United Kingdom, The Netherlands, Estonia and the United States) to achieve the optimal mix of expertise.
